Project Description

Description

This park was designed to honor 3 individuals who resided in or had connections with the town of East Rutherford. The Wall is oriented in the direction of where the Towers once stood. Steel shadows of the New York City skyline represent the skyline as it stood in 2001. The voids in the wall create two shadowy gateways toward Manhattan. Included in the design was a fountain to represent history of East Rutherford, formerly Boiling Springs. In developing a design standard for the multi-block renovation of Park Avenue, we sought a holistic approach to both enhance the pedestrian and people experience while ameliorating the impact of vehicular traffic of this busy thoroughfare.
