Project Description

Description

The future urban landscape of NYC continues to push closer to the water’s edge, however, the water levels are rising. This design embraces both the edge growth of the city and the future water levels. The existing canal will be excavated and replaced with outdoor tanks and walkways. Large tent-like canopies conduct the aura of the NYC skyline to the park below, and provide shelter from the elements and enhance the visibility of the tanks. The existing building on the site will remain and be utilized for the aquarium’s mechanical and service spaces.

Location
